TWO York City fans have officially celebrated their engagement – by watching their team play a pre-season friendly against Barnsley.

Anne-Marie Casey, 40, and Dean Cuthbert, 31, chose to mark their engagement at last night’s match at KitKat Crescent, where they held a party in the Keith Walwyn Suite.

The couple, who are set to marry in 2010, first met en route to Stafford Rangers on a Travel Club bus, where they got chatting during the journey, exchanged phone numbers, became good friends and got engaged in May.

Dean, who lives in Clifton, York, said: “I think it’s been a very good way to mark our engagement. It’s been a good game. Anne-Marie has been enjoying it as well.”

The couple, who sponsored last night’s game, enjoyed the occasion with family and friends.
